Originally from the Ural region of Russia, Olga Vilshenko grew up surrounded by quality craftsmanship, passed down through generations. She received an early fashion education watching her mother, who created beautiful, one-of-a-kind pieces for her family in her spare time, bypassing the swathe of austere shapes found in stores during the Communist routine.
Olga was always inspired by her mother’s talent, and the commitment to creating beauty within restraint, stayed with her into adulthood. Olga later pursued her love of fashion by honing her self- taught skills at the Institute of Fashion and Art in Russia, eventually supplementing her study at London’s Istituto Marangoni.
Olga’s first collection for VILSHENKO was presented for Spring/Summer 2011, effortlessly fusing her eastern heritage with western silhouettes to create a distinctively modern, luxury label with a traditional folkloric twist.
She now splits her time between her studios in London and Moscow, where she opened the first VILSHENKO boutique in Autumn 2014
